Right now, however, to get a better feel for the use of such symbolism in the book, I'd like you to visit the Bird Guide link at the bottom of this post, spend awhile looking through the many birds and bird types listed (look at their names, shapes, sizes, behaviors, eating habits, songs, everything), and decide which bird best symbolizes you and your personality. Consider which type of bird you would be if you were to be turned into a bird; avoid picking a bird just because you think it is the coolest one. Then, in a COMMENT TO THIS POST, write a short response (1) naming the bird you picked, (2) describing what it is like, and (3) explaining in what ways it symbolizes you (what connections can you make between yourself and the bird, considering its look, behavior, location, personality, eating habits, etc.). I believe I would be a Western Scrub Jay. I believe this because they have a mischevious streak (they steal food hidden by other birds). I'm not saying that I steal, but I am not above being sneaky. This was especially true when I was younger. Also, these birds have to be highly observant to watch other birds as they hide their food and very careful to make sure other jays are not watching them as they hide their own food. Both of these adjectives (observant and careful) would describe me, as well. On top of that, they're blue, and that's my favorite color.
I have chosen the Phainopepla, it is most like me. The quiz said eagle, but i chose this one instead. It likes fruit, i love fruit. It is very different from the other birds, just like i am different form my peers. It is not very colorful, but neither am i. I stand out in other ways.
I am a penguin. Penguins are born live in the cold climate. I was born in a cold season and i like the cold weather. Penguins are slow walkers and runners. I am a slow runner.xD. When penguins fight , it doesnt hurt their enemies that much. When I fight it also has little impact on my enemies. Penguins have the smallest eggs. I am small.
I believe I would be a American Goldfinch.I believe this because they are pretty birds(im pretty),they are small(they are 4.3-5.1 in.),and I'm small.They are very active.I am VERY acitive.I do basketball,run around with my brother,play football,dance,and more.Also,these birds are not that loud as other birds.also i like the colors of the birds.
Although i never though of it, i believe i am a Blue Jay. This is because the they are very intelligent(like me..of course. For Example, Blue Jays mimic hawks' calls to scare other birds.They value much about family bonds like me as i did before, now, and in the years to come. Blue Jays find comfort when they are with their family or flock.Blue Jays are also handsome and aggressive which i am also if it is necessary. Just talking about a Blue Jay's eating habits..they love acorns..which i hate..?!
I think I would be a Northern Saw-Whet Owl. I think this because they're small and tame looking, but they make people percieve that. I'm short for my age in my family of course so everyone else around me is tall. Also when I first meet people i don't come on very strongly I'm more quiet and conservative like the saw-whet owl. So yea, the Saw-Whet Owl would describe me perfectly.
I would be a Blue Jay. My favorite color is blue. They are known for their intelligence. They have tight family bonds.
I think that i would be a red-winged hawk because they first of all resemble fearless and very dominant and when they prey on other animals they have this mentality to want to not share with the others and that they are the toughest birds ever. They relate to me because Im tough and i dont really like to share the most important things to me. And they are red and my favorite color is red and they coincedintaly are red and my favorite bird is hawks and i love hawks..
I think i am the american robin.It's a bird u dnt see in the garden on an average day, which makes them wild. I think i have a wild "side". I'm not the average kid,I drum to my own beat.The robin is also very observate. I think I am obervate, even through a lot of the time, I keep it to myself.
Hey its Kyle and i picked the Ruby-throted Hummingbird. I like this bird because its cute, small, and fast like me. I choose this bird also because its very similar to me in so many ways. The Ruby-throted Hummingbird is small, agile, fast, slim, smart, picky, and can see things that other peolpe can't. Like the hummingbird I'm very picky with what I eat and I have ADHD so I'm hyper a lot and can move around very fast. Also, I'm small like the bird and will defend myself only if nessesary. I dont like to stick around long so I'm alway's on the move. when I play games with my friends I'm normally picked first because im quick, agile, small and so I can manuover easily and fit in tight places, and in games like Manhunt I can spot people hiding really easily.
I am the songbird and a hummingbird. Songbird love to sing. Hummingbird love to communicate people and sing. I am like both bird because I like to sing and communicate. It a very colorful bird and it love to sleep just like me!
I would say im a raven because most people that dont know me dont know what to think of me but once they get to know me that ave nothing but good things to say about me, just like the raven.Ravens like to be with family and close friends, as do i.Also ravens are very different from other birds and they like ti stick out and not blend in and thats how i feel.
I would be a Red-tailed Hawk. I say this because they have very sharp eyes to see all there surroundngs, and i also can do that. They wait till the cooled weather to climb a thermal. They are rich brown above and pale below, with a streaked belly and, on the wing underside, a dark bar between shoulder and wrist. The tail is usually pale below and cinnamon-red above, though in young birds it’s brown and banned. It symblizes me beacause they fly into the wind on windy days, like me I fly into troubles faced,head on.
I chose to be the American Goldfinch. This bird is an active, and arcrobatic bird. When they fly it's a bouncy pattern. It is black and yellow. It also lives all over the U.S. I'm like this bird because I'm an active person since I play all kinds of sports, and I live in the U.S. They also balance on dandelions.
hey mr.smith this is brandee johnson.the bird i picked was the Pinyon Jay.the reason that i picked this was becuase of the fact that i like the colors blue, white.and that the fact that i Travel in large flocks like groups in school...this is why i picked this bird.

Chickadees hide foods for later. I do that sometimes to prevent my sister from eating my food.
Also, it says the more dee notes in a chickadee-dee-dee call, the higher the threat level. Well kinda like me, the more I repeat stuff, the more I want to hurt someone.

A Robing Is Usually Seen In North America Tugging In The Lawns On Worms. But Nooo Dont Tugg On Worms..Jaja, But I Can Say I Like To Play Around With Things. Is That Almost The Same.?-- Anyways Back To Me Being A Bird. A Robin Is Popular For Their Orange Breast, Cherry Songs, And Early Apperance At The End OF Winter.. Well I Loooooovvvveeeeee The Winter So Uhm We Can Be Common A Least A Little.. My Favorite Color Is Orange Of Course.. BUt Uhm I Dont Know About The Cherry Song Cause I Cant Sing Jaja... But Yeah Is This Enough.? Well Yeah I Guess... Byeeeeeeeee.!! =]

I would probably be a Rufous Hummingbird.The bird is very fiesty and territorial.The bird and I are simalar because I am fiesty and the are violent.Plus the birds are very pretty.
Well I consider myself a Northern Saw-whet Owl, because the female owls are said to be neat. I have that characteristic too. I hate when something is messy. I don't even want to be in that place. Also I'm not much of a morning person. Oh and it's also small, like me!
i think that i'm a Swallow-tailed Hummingbird. i saw this because the humming bird is small, so am I. The humming bird is fast, i was fast once in my life. And because the Swallow-tailed Hummingbird is the nation bird of Jamaica, a native of Jamaica. The Swallow-tail got its name because of the long black tail it has. Pretty much all hummingbird heart and wings beat fast. my heart beats pretty fast even thought im not active. So this is why im a Swallow-tailed Hummingbird!
I think I'm most like the Juniper Titmouse. These birds are protective over there eggs. And they hiss when they are disturbed. I like to have my space too. And I'm protective over my family. These birds are also small. Like me!

I would be a Black – Capped Chickadee because it is cute. Its’ habit is to investigate people and everything else in its home territory. It is also quick to discover bird feeders, which makes it one of the first birds most people learn about. It also has an amazing voice. That’s why I picked this bird.
Hey this is tunji. The bird I chose is the blue jay. I chose this bird because, it is a very unique bird. It is the color blue, and I like blue. It is also, a very smart bird. I am also smart. Although I don't show it all the time, I am a very smart boy. They are also beautiful and aggressive. I am a beautiful child and I can be agressive if needed. The blue jay is known for their tight bonds. And they always stay with their family and stay connected. I also have tight family bonds. I love my family, and I always stay connected with them. Also the blue jay eats food that are not so satisfying. But the one I like is fruit. I like fruit alot. It is sweet and cool.
I think I would be a Mallard Duck. I say this because i like to be around strong flock of family(As Mallards also like to stay close to their family), friends and associates that make you feel safe and comfortable. I'm pretty calm and easy going, but I can get defensive when a situation gets out of hand. Also,I believe in family, tradition, and loyalty.
Alo, this is Jeremy. My bird is the Carolina Wren, mostly because South Carolina is my home state and it is an active little bird. I don't participate in sports but rarely do I like to sit around.
I Have chosen Black-chinned Hummingbird,to most likely fit me becasue its small.Black-chinned Hummingbird has a purple strip on its throat and thats my favorite color.

I Chose the HummingBird because they say the hummingbird are very unique birds. they feed on nector and their wings go real fast. Plus they can also fly backwards which in my opinion makes them unique
I feel that i am a lot like the Northern Mockingbird. The Northern Mockingbird likes to make sure people know they're around. I always make sure people know. I come off quiet a lot of times but i make sure one way or another people know my presence. Also they're very territorial which i also am. I respect privacy and i want people to respect mine. if they don't then i get really mad and loud. A mockingbird makes new songs a lot...in a way i feel that means it's there way to change there looks. Like when you get s new haircut is like a mockingbirds new song to show off to people. i do that a lot. i change the way i look by my hair so to people i'm unpredictable. Like the Northern Mocking bird. So that's why i feel i'm the Northern Mocking bird.
I believe I would be a black-capped chickadee. I am like this bird because physically we both have very round faces. :) Also it says that these birds are very curious. lastly the thing that relates to me is that this bird is easy to distinguish.
If I were a bird I would want to be a Boreal Owl. One reson is because they live in cold climate areas such as alaska and on top of mountains, and I am one of those people that like being in the cold. Second, would be because it's a nocturnal bird and like it, I like to do things at nite then in the day time. Last would be its picky about its habitat and same with me I am picky about where i stay and sleep at.
I believe I would be a Ringed Turtle-Dove because they are peaceful like me. In fact when I was a baby, I didn't even cry a lot. Also, the Ringed Turtle-Dove is afraid of things bigger than it. I'm not a scardy cat, but I have to get to know someone, I guess. They are rare and I believe I am rare and unique, like it. Plus, it's in a Christmas song and I love Christmas! Lastly, it's white and white is a beautiful color.
I think that I am the common blue jay. I think I am a blue jay because blue jays are very smart and I consider myself intelligent. Also the blue jay is a songbird and song birds are known for working together especially the blue jay. To the blue jay it's all about family and just like the blue jay I am very connected and protective of my family. Lol :)

1) ima humming brid no idea why but yeahh its kinda random :)
2)Hummingbirds have compact, strongly muscled bodies and rather long, bladelike wings that, unlike the wings of other birds, articulate (connect) to the body only from the shoulder joint.
3)Humming Brids like to work alone and so am i. Also i do stuff quickly and im very indecisive. so are humming brids :)

I think that I am a Northern Mocking Bird. The Northern Mocking Bird, is a bird that enjoys being known, also protecting its territory form others that don't belong there. The like staying on Low grounds, suburbs, and parks. This bird describes me so well because, I am always being noticed in so many situations, my job is to protect was right. Lastly, I am afraid of heights and this bird is a low grounds type of bird which works perfectly for me.
I believe that I would be a Penguin. These birds spend most of there time under water(In the summer i love to go swimming.) These birds spend most of there time in the cold weather (i like the cold weather) They are also very friendly (and so am I)
